CSV TO POST - HELP! -
Posted on November 17th, 2009 in Wordpress |
Still getting lots of comments on the older releases of the plugin, if you still want to use the csv to post plugin download it here (latest plugin)
And yes it still works as of 17/12/09 with the latest wordpress of wordpress, people arent reading the installation instructions and seem to be just uploading datafeeds straight from the networks, how’s the plugin supposed to know which column names you WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! READ THIS!!!!!BELOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If your using datafeeds from affiliate window select the following columns(see list below) under data feed options, NO MORE NO LESS, the plugin doesnt support them. Thats the basic selection and the minimum requirements the plugin needs to work. If you know what your doing you can create unique seo content from duplicate content!!!
Title > product_name
Description > description
Image Url > aw_image_url or merchant_image_url
Affiliate Link > aw_deep_link
Price > search_price or store_price
Download the datafeed
Open with excel or neo office
Rename the columns, so product_name, rename that to Title and so on.
Save .csv file
Assuming you have activated the plugin, browse for the .csv file and upload, it might says processing file, just leave the screen open for about 5 minutes, to make sure everything is uploaded, its catching for some reason.
And if it doesnt work? well i’ve just tested it and it works, it may conflict with other similar plugins like tdo mini forms or something. Not sure!
Whats coming for version 3?

When v3 will be done?
First, let me say that this concept is awesome. I just cant seem to get it working. I have several other datafeed sites. Those are set up like seach search engines, for example Search Destination for Hotels. Travel and Vacations (http://fuzbuz.com) or Traffic and SEO related (http://traffichijackers.com/) among others. But in attemptin to use your plugin, this is what I am getting. Maybe I need some sleep and it’ll make sense later in the morning (right now it’s 1:37 am and I’ve been up almost 72 hours already).
Warning: Wrong parameter count for fgetcsv() in /XXXXX/public_html/wp-admin/upcsv/upload.php on line 17
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /XXXXX/public_html/wp-admin/upcsv/upload.php on line 23
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks again.
I’ve tried to activate the plugin and all I get in a Fatal Error.
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare prep() (previously declared in …wp-content/plugins/CSVtoWordpressV2plugin/csv_2_wordpress.php on line 30
Any idea?
Looks like a great plugin. Unfortunately, I can’t get it to work. What version of WP have you tested it on? I have 2.9..
I named all columns as described, and for debugging I disabled other plugins. When I upload a csv, everything seems to be going ok. I even get a processing.. done! on top of the page. What am I doing wrong? Any tips on debugging?
Hi Matt,
When you say “people aren’t reading the installation instructions” …. errr … there isn’t a link to them from this page or the sidebar.
Where are they please?
Cheers
Paul
